The ASA takes no stand on relevance. Maybe it should, but then to many advertising is an art form in its own right. If advertising had to be relevant, 90% of copywriters and designers would be out of a job! The ASA, for instance, is only interested in whether a reasonable viewer would be misled on the basis<BR/>of the overall impression conveyed to them. Is anyone likely to ascribe any attributes to the carciofi on the basis that a curvy babe is shown standing by the jar? Of course the intention of the advertisers is to seduce you into buying the product by hook or by crook, but the intentions of advertisers are never taken into account. It's about winning, not informing or getting it right. Like lawyers, they aim to win, no matter what kind of bastard they are defending. Sigh!NShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15018036947796343040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8240551483696489142.post-55765690716989746472008-09-24T17:41:00.000+01:002008-09-24T17:41:00.000+01:00This comment has been removed by the author.NShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15018036947796343040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8240551483696489142.post-5988510059136398092008-08-16T00:49:00.000+01:002008-08-16T00:49:00.000+01:00Here here, very second wave of you hon!
