Hôtel du Nord and Canal Saint Martin: etchings
These are my latest etchings. The top one is based upon a sketch I did at Hôtel du Nord (as you'll see on this blog it's one of my favourite haunts in Paris to sit and sketch in). The other is a scene of the Canal Saint Martin, based on a sketch I did sitting at a canal-side cafe.

Hôtel du Nord
This canal-side café-restaurant is one of my favourite haunts in Paris. It's the eponymous setting of René Clair's 1938 film - which I watched ages ago and really must re-watch. When I'm there I also think about the wonderful 1934 movie l'Atalante by Jean Vigo, which also includes scenes along the canal.
